Censor board forces 40% cuts for lovemaking scenes in ÂDunno Y, Na Jaane KyunÂ
- IndiaGlitz, [Monday,October 25 2010]
The makers of the film are upset over the double standards of the censor board in India They are aghast that 40% of the lovemaking and sensual scenes between Kapil Sharma and Yuvraaj Parashar have to be deleted from the film.
Also another scene of nude Yuvraaj Parashar from behind has been deleted. The makers alleges that just because the love making scene were between two men, instead of a boy and a girl, the censors were prejudiced, and moreover since the censor board had some women in the committee who felt it was against Indian culture. Since in the past the censors have cleared lovemaking scenes between a boy and a girlÂ
The gay activists are furious since they consider thatÂs itÂs their legal rights since the courts judgement on Article 377, and feel that whoever talks about that being gay is against Indian culture should be educated that it existed since times immemorial and is also mentioned in the Kama Sutra and the statues of Kajuraho.
The film has been acclaimed at all the gay film festivals for portraying the emotional conflict arising out of the protagonist realisation of sexual preferences that are against social norms.
The actors have also been getting threatening mails from hard line individuals and organisations over the last week warning them with dire consequences if the Gay film was released.
Yuvraaj Parashar who has already been thrown out of his house and property rights by his father for playing a gay character, as his father too felt that it was against Indian culture, has been doubly petrified, since he is making his debut in the film.
The film makers and the director approached the police for protection and lodged an official complaint. They are just keeping their fingers crossed, hoping that it does not affect their film release next week, made with so much passion!
A complaint was lodged with the Khar Police Station and says a petrified Parashar, ÂKapil and I are new to the film industry and donÂt want these people to harm us before our career even takes off.Â
